The electric feeling of starting a new boat, this was my first step to creating my pdracer. I marked the bottom profile onto my plywood.

At each station mark, I drove a nail into the plywood, then used clamps to hold a batten to the nails. If you miss-mark one of your points, it will be very obvious at this point, and you can correct it.

Marking along the batten, I created the curve for the bottom of the hull.

I know this is considered one of the "instant construction" methods, but I prefer to cut very slowly. Figure I spend much more time setting up the cut, might as well take time when the saw blade is actually spinning.

I looked over the piece that I just cut out, and tried to figure out which side it would be for. Decided to put the smooth side in, because I would be looking at it while sailing, and I really don't care what others think from the outside. So I laid the panel I had on the other side, so after cut out, the smooth side would be inside also.

I next marked where the bulkheads would be, on both sides. The mark in the inside will later be used for placing the bulkheads, and the mark on the outside will be used for guiding the screws that will hold the bulkheads.
