Most people who make cardboard boats will fold and glue pieces together. Since cardboard is so light, and I favor chine log construction so much I decided to laminate up thick sheets of cardboard so I'll have a wide edge to glue onto.

The regatta organizers supply big sheets of cardboard, but you could easily do this with multiple smaller pieces. Here I have laid a bunch of sheets of cardboard on top of each other and aligned the corners.

To keep the sheets from sliding while I saw, I drove a screwdriver thru all the sheets. To make things easy, I am using my circular saw to cut the cardboard, and a stick of wood to lift it off the ground so the saw blade won't chew up my porch.

Here are all the pieces that will go into one side of the boat. I am using 3 layers of cardboard with all of the joints overlapped.

Few zig zaggs of my favorite Titebond II glue...

Lucky for me, I am in the process of building a fish pond and have a bunch of cinder blocks.

Here is the other side piece, and the bulkheads all stacked in one pile.
