BYE BYE DUCK
By John Bridges #512 "Lavender Duck" (28es 18eo 20ea 43ad 50ar)On Saturday 10th November my Lavender Duck went to the Duck Valhalla to join those other unfortunate ducks who died in a tragic accident a couple of years ago on the Florida Turnpike. She has attended more than 20 demonstrations and promotional exhibits where she had been indecently poked and prodded by myriad unknown hands. In addition she had in her short life given much pleasure to her crew whilst sailing on Lakes far and wide. She lost a few feathers in the process, was wounded, and quietly expired.
Unlike her poor unfortunate bretheren whose ashes were just distributed along the highway, this one departed the world with a moving ceremony attended by a score of mourners. A farewell supper with Chinese Menu including Roast Duck was enjoyed as the sun sank below the horizon, the bonfire provided a warming sight as stories of her life were recounted. These included the assistance to Santa Claus when Blixen got a stone in her hoof.
Then, having been stripped of all her worldly possesions she will now rise again, like Phoenix,to participate in future Duck Gatherings.
THE DUCK IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE DUCK
