Been meaning to send an email...

Shorty,

I've been meaning to send an email to you for years regarding my little Puddle Duck and have just now gotten around to it. As you can see I'm not extremely active when it comes to emailing or web posting. I'll try and give you a brief history of my build and how I have used it over the years.

I built it several years ago (maybe 2013), and I have really enjoyed it, often being on overnight trips. I was able to squeeze in a 'full' cabin on it, and by elevating the cockpit it ends up having legroom underneath so you have a full length berth inside. At a minimum I try to get it out once or twice a year on one of the local lakes and spend the weekend out on the water. When the kids were younger I even got them out there for a night or two. Imagine 3 people, even though two are young kids, sleeping a night or two on a puddle duck. For the sail I salvaged the rig off an old Snark sailboat which ended up working out great. Probably the only part of the build that may make it not 'official' is the omission of the 'float boxes'. I ended up not including these air boxes so that I would have more cabin room, but even with those missing the boat is still unsinkable. The 'shell/hull' (sides, bottom, cockpit floor) is actually all composed of 1/2 inch foam board sandwiched between sheets of veneer. This also ended up making it very strong as well.

Again, I have thoroughly enjoyed it and am glad I ran across your page some years ago. I am also attaching a few pics to this email and please feel free to post these if you would like. At the moment I am itching to build another, but my wife said that's not happening until the guest shower is retiled. So I guess for now my next project is tiling a shower.
